Self Directed Brief
This initially sounded like it was going to be a piece of cake but when it came to writing it down on paper it was quite difficult. My aim was to try and create a floor covering that had a geometric floral theme because I'd just finished a floral based project and my work generally contains geometric aspects. I looked at geometric floral patterns within Islamic architecture and geometric designs using patchwork techniques.hexagonal patchwork

Paper & Cloth

We've got a brief with Paper & Cloth following our flower drawing session, they're a design studio desig n team owned and directed by Jenny River. They currently have 7 designers on their team and the novel thing is that they can attach their name to their own designs. The brief is around 4 areas of design women's fashion, children's fashion, stationery and interiors. I've chosen interiors and have to create 8 designs in a traditional floral theme.
